Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Distributors, Chemicals and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares gained 0.61% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Label Vie (CS:LBV), which rose 6.00% or 72 points to trade at 1272 at the close. Ib Maroc.Com (CS:IBMC) added 5.99% or 5.70 points to end at 100.80 and Jet Contractors (CS:JET) was up 5.98% or 12.15 points to 215.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR), which lost 8.80% or 9.95 points to trade at 103.05 in late trade. Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX) declined 4.45% or 7.00 points to end at 150.00 and Risma (CS:RIS) shed 2.34% or 4.80 points to 200.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 36 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.00% or 0.51 to $50.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.76% or 0.43 to hit $56.66 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 2.02% or 22.90 to trade at $1109.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.08% to 10.7370, while USD/MAD fell 0.12% to 9.8925.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 97.99.
