Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure, Forestry & Paper and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares added 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Stroc Industrie (CS:STR), which rose 4.14% or 1.88 points to trade at 47.33 at the close. Risma (CS:RIS) added 2.85% or 2.95 points to end at 106.45 and Med Paper (CS:PAP) was up 2.59% or 0.48 points to 19.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR), which lost 9.84% or 9.50 points to trade at 87.00 in late trade. Promopharm S.A. (CS:PRO) declined 9.58% or 115 points to end at 1085 and Dari Couspate SA (CS:DRI) shed 5.97% or 118 points to 1857.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 15 and 10 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.07% or 0.54 to $49.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.98% or 0.51 to hit $51.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1256.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.10% to 10.8260, while USD/MAD fell 0.16% to 9.8408.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 97.86.
