Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Materials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.31% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 2.83% or 0.990 points to trade at 35.840 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) added 1.43% or 0.670 points to end at 47.520 and Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB) was up 0.75% or 1.560 points to 211.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 6.83% or 1.120 points to trade at 15.210 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 6.13% or 0.860 points to end at 13.130 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) shed 2.55% or 0.760 points to 28.970.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 58 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.44% or 4.80 to $1098.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.71% or 0.34 to hit $48.10 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.07% or 0.59 to trade at $54.68 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.27% to 16.2615, while EUR/MXN rose 0.27% to 17.8524.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 97.35.
