Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 1.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 1.47% or 0.220 points to trade at 15.200 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 0.48% or 0.480 points to end at 101.110 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 0.38% or 0.45 points to 120.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which lost 5.74% or 1.935 points to trade at 31.795 in late trade. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) declined 3.34% or 2.170 points to end at 62.740 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) shed 3.20% or 1.360 points to 41.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 181 to 69 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.57% or 7.40 to $1313.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.79% or 0.54 to hit $68.47 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.37 to trade at $73.73 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.12% to 19.0620, while EUR/MXN rose 0.17% to 22.8533.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 92.27.
