Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 1.71% or 0.970 points to trade at 57.640 at the close. GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT) added 0.58% or 0.160 points to end at 27.580 and Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) was up 0.25% or 0.080 points to 31.750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which lost 4.49% or 1.370 points to trade at 29.120 in late trade. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) declined 4.06% or 4.62 points to end at 109.21 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) shed 3.96% or 4.74 points to 115.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 159 to 117 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.09% or 1.10 to $1290.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $71.53 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.15 to trade at $79.43 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.81% to 19.7257, while EUR/MXN rose 0.68% to 23.2679.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.39.
