Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Materials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which rose 2.82% or 0.32 points to trade at 11.61 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) added 1.90% or 0.22 points to end at 11.79 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) was up 1.56% or 0.69 points to 45.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which lost 4.26% or 1.10 points to trade at 24.79 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) declined 3.60% or 9.21 points to end at 246.71 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) shed 3.38% or 5.60 points to 160.03.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 131 to 92 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.67% or 16.00 to $2,410.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.19% or 0.93 to hit $77.47 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $81.56 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.17% to 18.17, while EUR/MXN rose 0.15% to 19.72.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 104.17.
