Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES), which rose 2.73% or 8.01 points to trade at 301.63 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB) added 1.87% or 2.06 points to end at 112.34 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) was up 0.98% or 1.90 points to 196.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO), which lost 2.93% or 1.37 points to trade at 45.44 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) declined 2.85% or 0.87 points to end at 29.62 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) shed 2.46% or 4.27 points to 169.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 127 to 101 and 17 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 4.50 to $2,734.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.59% or 1.09 to hit $69.78 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $73.99 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.01% to 19.97, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.01% to 21.61.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 103.82.
