Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL), which rose 2.07% or 3.38 points to trade at 165.96 at the close. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) added 1.54% or 0.84 points to end at 55.12 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) was up 1.20% or 0.26 points to 21.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA), which lost 4.99% or 3.41 points to trade at 64.75 in late trade. Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) declined 2.69% or 0.84 points to end at 30.31 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) shed 2.01% or 3.36 points to 163.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 140 to 88 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.26% or 30.50 to $2,456.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.70% or 0.53 to hit $75.28 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $78.54 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 18.76, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.00% to 20.29.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 104.24.
