Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.33% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA), which rose 2.04% or 1.34 points to trade at 67.04 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) added 1.61% or 5.59 points to end at 350.13 and America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:AMXB) was up 1.42% or 0.22 points to 15.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which lost 3.63% or 0.29 points to trade at 7.70 in late trade. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) declined 3.36% or 0.37 points to end at 10.65 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:ASURB) shed 3.02% or 16.65 points to 535.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 141 to 88 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 5.30 to $2,486.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.84% or 2.17 to hit $74.14 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.54% or 2.02 to trade at $77.50 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.77% to 19.18, while EUR/MXN rose 2.80% to 20.93.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.16% at 103.00.
