Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which rose 3.15% or 0.48 points to trade at 15.72 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 3.03% or 0.700 points to end at 23.800 and America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) was up 1.40% or 0.250 points to 18.090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which lost 4.39% or 0.640 points to trade at 13.950 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 2.90% or 1.250 points to end at 41.910 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) shed 2.28% or 1.570 points to 67.330.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 173 to 102 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1327.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $60.88 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $64.73 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.03% to 18.6042, while EUR/MXN fell 0.00% to 23.0541.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 89.70.
