Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 1.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which fell 0.21% or 0.060 points to trade at 28.000 at the close. Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB) fell 0.23% or 0.470 points to end at 201.610 and America Movil L, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) was down 0.72% or 0.120 points to 16.530 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 3.97% or 0.660 points to trade at 15.970 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 3.65% or 0.540 points to end at 14.230 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) shed 3.51% or 1.250 points to 34.150.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 14 and 1 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.46% or 5.40 to $1178.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.36% or 1.41 to hit $58.23 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.98% or 1.25 to trade at $62.01 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.93% to 15.6916, while EUR/MXN rose 1.45% to 17.6305.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.55% at 95.08.
