Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 1.12% or 0.340 points to trade at 30.750 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 0.91% or 0.180 points to end at 19.970 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was up 0.76% or 0.74 points to 98.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which lost 2.04% or 1.000 points to trade at 48.060 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 1.64% or 12.85 points to end at 770.01 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) shed 1.32% or 4.81 points to 359.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 41 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.69% or 9.18 to $1339.58 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.17% or 0.08 to hit $47.37 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.00% or 0.53 to trade at $52.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.34% to 17.8742, while EUR/MXN rose 0.65% to 21.2654.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 92.57.
