Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which rose 2.49% or 0.39 points to trade at 16.06 at the close. America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) added 1.17% or 0.190 points to end at 16.380 and Mexichem, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 0.97% or 0.460 points to 47.920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which lost 3.15% or 10.68 points to trade at 328.85 in late trade. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) declined 1.75% or 1.78 points to end at 99.71 and Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) shed 1.69% or 1.060 points to 61.560.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 163 to 97 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.44% or 5.67 to $1290.67 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.68% or 1.33 to hit $50.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.33% or 0.74 to trade at $56.53 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.81% to 18.8220, while EUR/MXN rose 1.42% to 22.2351.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 93.06.
