Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 10.08% or 2.440 points to trade at 26.530 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) added 1.66% or 0.200 points to end at 12.270 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 1.47% or 1.420 points to 98.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which lost 3.00% or 1.080 points to trade at 34.560 in late trade. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) declined 2.34% or 5.390 points to end at 224.980 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) shed 1.80% or 1.770 points to 96.230.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 78 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.16% or 2.00 to $1221.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.10% or 0.04 to hit $39.42 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.37% or 0.15 to trade at $40.88 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.67% to 17.4196, while EUR/MXN fell 0.39% to 19.5038.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 95.98.
