Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 1.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 5.39% or 1.390 points to trade at 27.180 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) added 5.00% or 2.650 points to end at 55.650 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 4.95% or 0.880 points to 18.670 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 4.24% or 18.780 points to trade at 424.490 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 3.10% or 1.130 points to end at 35.300 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) shed 2.88% or 0.790 points to 26.610.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 58 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.14% or 1.70 to $1211.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.68% or 0.33 to hit $47.91 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.08 to trade at $49.13 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.01% to 20.5928, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 21.8864.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 101.09.
