Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 4.10% or 4.51 points to trade at 114.50 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 2.18% or 0.620 points to end at 29.000 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was up 2.10% or 1.600 points to 77.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which lost 1.72% or 0.840 points to trade at 47.900 in late trade. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 1.50% or 3.53 points to end at 232.00 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) shed 1.24% or 1.17 points to 93.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 139 to 99 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.92% or 11.61 to $1244.79 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.93% or 0.40 to hit $43.41 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.74% or 0.34 to trade at $46.09 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.67% to 17.8801, while EUR/MXN fell 0.77% to 19.9945.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 97.11.
