Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which rose 4.51% or 2.210 points to trade at 51.160 at the close. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 2.72% or 2.330 points to end at 87.930 and Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) was up 2.50% or 6.510 points to 267.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 3.99% or 0.840 points to trade at 20.190 in late trade. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) declined 1.58% or 1.38 points to end at 86.04 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) shed 1.33% or 1.360 points to 101.060.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 149 to 95 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.13% or 1.60 to $1234.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.18% or 0.62 to hit $53.23 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.31% or 0.72 to trade at $55.80 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 2.40% to 19.5178, while EUR/MXN fell 1.33% to 20.7313.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 101.35.
