Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 1.72% or 0.380 points to trade at 22.460 at the close. Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) added 1.64% or 0.37 points to end at 22.90 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) was up 1.23% or 1.200 points to 98.410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 7.36% or 0.170 points to trade at 2.140 in late trade. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) declined 2.38% or 0.430 points to end at 17.600 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) shed 2.20% or 0.690 points to 30.730.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 65 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.28% or 3.45 to $1249.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.62% or 0.30 to hit $48.11 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.37 to trade at $48.35 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.98% to 18.5187, while EUR/MXN rose 0.92% to 20.7716.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 95.26.
