Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Financial Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESB1), which rose 3.35% or 0.360 points to trade at 11.110 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) added 2.29% or 1.010 points to end at 45.190 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) was up 1.89% or 2.190 points to 117.940 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 6.63% or 32.170 points to trade at 452.780 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 1.28% or 0.200 points to end at 15.370 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) shed 1.21% or 0.570 points to 46.540.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 80 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.34% or 18.00 to $1328.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.79% or 1.34 to hit $46.76 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.94% or 0.97 to trade at $48.99 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.60% to 18.4558, while EUR/MXN fell 0.99% to 20.7835.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 94.73.
