Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 5.39% or 43.25 points to trade at 844.99 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 3.57% or 1.14 points to end at 33.03 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 2.56% or 0.420 points to 16.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 1.82% or 0.35 points to trade at 18.90 in late trade. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) declined 1.43% or 1.120 points to end at 77.350 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 0.96% or 0.280 points to 28.850.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 148 to 131 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.76% or 9.74 to $1269.76 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.37% or 0.17 to hit $45.81 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.27 to trade at $48.13 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.23% to 18.1559, while EUR/MXN fell 0.40% to 20.3268.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 97.25.
