Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 4.94% or 5.300 points to trade at 112.490 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 3.65% or 3.690 points to end at 104.900 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was up 3.74% or 2.71 points to 75.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 3.37% or 0.130 points to trade at 3.730 in late trade. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) declined 3.31% or 0.880 points to end at 25.700 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 2.23% or 5.900 points to 258.390.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 64 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.43% or 5.65 to $1317.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.64% or 1.18 to hit $43.52 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.41% or 1.13 to trade at $45.76 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.16% to 18.7549, while EUR/MXN rose 0.22% to 21.0056.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 95.63.
