Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.66% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Cementos De Chihuahua (MX:GCC), which rose 4.74% or 4.800 points to trade at 105.970 at the close. America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) added 4.59% or 0.660 points to end at 15.050 and Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (MX:BBAJIOO) was up 4.17% or 1.610 points to 40.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 1.86% or 0.260 points to trade at 13.750 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) declined 1.33% or 0.390 points to end at 28.850 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) shed 1.18% or 1.060 points to 88.790.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 176 to 86 and 23 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.28% or 3.65 to $1286.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.21% or 1.07 to hit $49.59 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.09% or 1.20 to trade at $58.53 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.13% to 19.3788, while EUR/MXN fell 0.17% to 22.1702.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 95.505.
