Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 1.15% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which rose 4.00% or 1.230 points to trade at 31.950 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) added 3.95% or 1.330 points to end at 34.990 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 3.94% or 15.37 points to 405.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which lost 1.16% or 1.54 points to trade at 131.03 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) declined 1.05% or 1.070 points to end at 100.890 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) shed 0.77% or 0.57 points to 73.05.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 211 to 77 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.62% or 7.80 to $1265.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $57.34 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.21 to trade at $63.44 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 19.0896, while EUR/MXN rose 0.03% to 22.4914.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 93.23.
