Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which rose 6.58% or 0.81 points to trade at 13.12 at the close. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) added 3.90% or 2.07 points to end at 55.16 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) was up 2.32% or 3.38 points to 148.97 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which lost 4.67% or 0.96 points to trade at 19.61 in late trade. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) declined 3.52% or 1.57 points to end at 43.00 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) shed 2.59% or 0.23 points to 8.64.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 135 to 88 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 13.70 to $2,679.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.78% or 2.79 to hit $71.04 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $74.73 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.20% to 19.72, while EUR/MXN rose 0.13% to 21.48.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 103.01.
