Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC), which rose 3.26% or 5.60 points to trade at 177.33 at the close. Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX) added 3.14% or 1.63 points to end at 53.52 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) was up 2.60% or 0.38 points to 14.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which lost 2.62% or 0.43 points to trade at 15.97 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) declined 1.85% or 2.65 points to end at 140.50 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB) shed 1.66% or 1.73 points to 102.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 163 to 66 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.33% or 35.55 to $2,710.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.68% or 1.18 to hit $71.28 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.27% or 0.94 to trade at $75.17 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.08% to 20.42, while EUR/MXN fell 0.55% to 21.27.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 107.47.
