Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA), which rose 5.88% or 1.28 points to trade at 23.04 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) added 4.79% or 0.98 points to end at 21.46 and Corporacion Inmobiliaria Vesta SAB (BMV:VESTA) was up 3.56% or 1.83 points to 53.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO), which lost 1.49% or 0.67 points to trade at 44.39 in late trade. Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) declined 0.87% or 0.17 points to end at 19.47 and Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) shed 0.80% or 0.35 points to 43.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 126 to 89 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.11% or 2.80 to $2,540.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.48% or 1.63 to hit $67.38 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $70.75 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 19.82, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.01% to 21.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 101.71.
