Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC), which rose 4.58% or 7.05 points to trade at 161.15 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) added 4.25% or 1.22 points to end at 29.89 and Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) was up 3.53% or 6.07 points to 177.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO), which lost 1.65% or 2.27 points to trade at 135.35 in late trade. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) declined 1.44% or 2.43 points to end at 165.80 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) shed 1.20% or 1.99 points to 163.81.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 128 to 85 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.43% or 34.90 to $2,467.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.14% or 0.86 to hit $76.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $78.97 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.08% to 18.88, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.01% to 20.60.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 103.01.
