Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX), which rose 3.61% or 2.19 points to trade at 62.83 at the close. Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) added 1.98% or 3.85 points to end at 198.05 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) was up 1.76% or 2.67 points to 154.57 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which lost 3.83% or 1.04 points to trade at 26.08 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:ASURB) declined 3.55% or 20.44 points to end at 556.00 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) shed 2.60% or 0.26 points to 9.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 120 to 106 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.60% or 13.95 to $2,330.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.20% or 0.98 to hit $80.65 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.33% or 1.13 to trade at $84.02 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.06% to 18.13, while EUR/MXN rose 0.76% to 19.42.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 105.30.
