Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB), which rose 4.15% or 5.74 points to trade at 144.00 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) added 2.72% or 9.55 points to end at 360.56 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) was up 2.29% or 1.09 points to 48.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GMEXICOB), which lost 2.81% or 3.07 points to trade at 106.20 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) declined 2.13% or 0.50 points to end at 22.95 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) shed 1.98% or 3.37 points to 166.68.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 130 to 99 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.79% or 43.45 to $2,472.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.24% or 1.00 to hit $79.84 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.21% or 1.03 to trade at $83.82 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.44% to 17.65, while EUR/MXN fell 0.54% to 19.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 103.91.
