Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1), which rose 4.55% or 6.33 points to trade at 145.46 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) added 3.65% or 12.20 points to end at 346.82 and Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) was up 2.77% or 1.00 points to 37.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA), which lost 3.29% or 1.08 points to trade at 31.72 in late trade. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) declined 2.83% or 5.65 points to end at 194.25 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) shed 2.69% or 4.50 points to 162.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 131 to 103 and 14 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.28% or 6.50 to $2,333.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.33% or 0.26 to hit $78.00 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.31 to trade at $81.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.99% to 18.57, while EUR/MXN rose 1.67% to 19.95.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 104.85.
