Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods & Services and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 6.38% or 1.170 points to trade at 19.500 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 5.20% or 1.180 points to end at 23.890 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 4.96% or 1.610 points to 34.090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 2.80% or 0.59 points to trade at 20.45 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) declined 2.72% or 0.960 points to end at 34.300 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) shed 1.45% or 2.57 points to 175.02.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 144 to 129 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.17% or 15.24 to $1287.76 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.27% or 0.14 to hit $52.01 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.34 to trade at $58.16 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.39% to 18.7692, while EUR/MXN fell 1.63% to 22.0837.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 93.36.
