Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 2.29% or 17.53 points to trade at 784.37 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 1.71% or 0.380 points to end at 22.600 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 1.10% or 2.15 points to 197.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 3.15% or 0.840 points to trade at 25.850 in late trade. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 1.66% or 0.330 points to end at 19.550 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) shed 1.14% or 0.550 points to 47.640.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 128 to 96 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.29 to $1315.01 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.34% or 0.16 to hit $46.41 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.47% or 0.24 to trade at $51.66 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.07% to 17.8595, while EUR/MXN fell 0.12% to 21.3838.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 92.27.
