Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.74% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 5.05% or 0.680 points to trade at 14.220 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 4.53% or 1.240 points to end at 28.620 and Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) was up 2.19% or 2.810 points to 131.490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which lost 0.82% or 0.260 points to trade at 31.500 in late trade. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 0.93% or 0.28 points to end at 29.72 and Compartamos, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GENTERA) shed 0.89% or 0.260 points to 29.010.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 40 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.47% or 5.70 to $1201.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 2.08% or 1.08 to hit $50.75 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.17 to trade at $60.04 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.18% to 15.0285, while EUR/MXN rose 0.25% to 17.0985.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 94.42.
