Investing.com – Malaysia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Trade & Services and Plantation sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI fell 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were DiGi.Com Bhd (KL:DSOM), which rose 1.45% or 0.09 points to trade at 6.30 at the close. Telekom Malaysia Bhd (KL:TLMM) added 1.35% or 0.10 points to end at 7.50 and MISC Bhd (KL:MISC) was up 0.77% or 0.07 points to 9.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included IHH Healthcare Bhd (KL:IHHH), which lost 3.27% or 0.19 points to trade at 5.62 in late trade. RHB Capital Bhd (KL:RHBC) declined 2.93% or 0.24 points to end at 7.96 and Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (KL:ASTR) shed 2.08% or 0.07 points to 3.29.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 47 and 2 ended unchanged on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.41% or 0.21 to $52.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.08% or 0.05 to hit $59.09 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.66% or 7.90 to trade at $1191.40 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was up 0.71% to 2.7110, while USD/MYR fell 0.37% to 3.6952.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 99.75.
