Investing.com – Malaysia equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Property, Mining and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI lost 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were MISC Bhd (KL:MISC), which rose 1.99% or 0.15 points to trade at 7.70 at the close. RHB Capital Bhd (KL:RHBC) added 1.51% or 0.11 points to end at 7.38 and Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (KL:FGVH) was up 1.23% or 0.02 points to 1.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sapurakencana Petroleum Bhd (KL:SKPE), which lost 2.10% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.33 in late trade. Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (KL:ASTR) declined 1.34% or 0.04 points to end at 2.95 and Sime Darby Bhd (KL:SIME) shed 1.06% or 0.09 points to 8.42.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 312 to 260 and 37 ended unchanged on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.28% or 0.14 to $47.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.41% or 0.22 to hit $53.08 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1096.90 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 0.05% to 2.7880, while USD/MYR rose 0.11% to 3.8073.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.70.
