Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.51% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 1.29% or 0.24 points to trade at 18.90 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.15% or 0.110 points to end at 75.810 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.14% or 0.30 points to 212.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 2.46% or 0.38 points to trade at 15.07 in late trade. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) declined 1.59% or 0.21 points to end at 13.33 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) shed 1.33% or 0.066 points to 4.899.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 35 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.07% to 13.18.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 3.43% or 1.64 to $46.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.31% or 0.68 to hit $51.30 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.09% or 14.11 to trade at $1312.01 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1976, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.9264.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 92.18.
