Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Transport and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which rose 3.98% or 0.270 points to trade at 7.050 at the close. Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) added 3.91% or 0.460 points to end at 12.220 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 3.57% or 0.050 points to 1.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS), which lost 5.86% or 5.80 points to trade at 93.10 in late trade. Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) declined 4.63% or 0.37 points to end at 7.62 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) shed 4.46% or 0.24 points to 5.14.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 196 to 151 and 63 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.95% or 11.65 to $1241.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.53% or 0.67 to hit $43.06 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.84% or 0.38 to trade at $44.69 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.05% to 2.8471, while EUR/TRY rose 0.42% to 3.2111.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 94.69.
