Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 2.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Endesa (MC:ELE), which rose 0.31% or 0.062 points to trade at 20.152 at the close. Gamesa (MC:GAM) fell 0.03% or 0.005 points to end at 15.035 and Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) was down 0.05% or 0.05 points to 100.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Repsol (MC:REP), which lost 7.18% or 0.870 points to trade at 11.240 in late trade. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) declined 6.21% or 0.306 points to end at 4.620 and Abengoa B (MC:ABGek) shed 6.00% or 0.062 points to 0.972.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 192 to 26 and 7 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.44% or 4.80 to $1080.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.82% or 1.21 to hit $41.72 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.53% or 1.18 to trade at $45.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.0796, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.7093.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 98.73.
