Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII), which rose 2.20% or 0.0081 points to trade at 0.3768 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) added 2.05% or 0.57 points to end at 28.34 and Exor (MI:EXOR) was up 2.04% or 0.73 points to 36.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 1.36% or 0.0025 points to trade at 0.1808 in late trade. Snam (MI:SRG) declined 1.10% or 0.054 points to end at 4.842 and Unicredit (MI:CRDI) shed 1.08% or 0.0220 points to 2.0100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 243 to 160 and 30 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.33% or 0.16 to $48.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.65% or 0.33 to hit $51.22 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 2.72% or 35.75 to trade at $1276.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1192, while EUR/GBP rose 0.62% to 0.8788.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 96.15.
