Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.66% or 0.0065 points to trade at 0.2510 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.97% or 0.0480 points to end at 2.4890 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.12% or 0.0330 points to 2.9830 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae (LS:YSO), which lost 1.97% or 0.0200 points to trade at 0.9950 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 1.53% or 0.0620 points to end at 4.0000 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 1.24% or 0.0470 points to 3.7400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.56% or 0.27 to $48.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.46% or 0.21 to hit $46.23 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.61% or 7.55 to trade at $1241.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.72% to 1.1561, while EUR/GBP rose 0.81% to 0.8862.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 94.43.
