Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB fell 1.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which rose 0.60% or 0.0120 points to trade at 2.0060 at the close. Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) added 0.45% or 0.04 points to end at 7.89 and Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) was up 0.18% or 0.04 points to 22.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER), which lost 5.50% or 1.66 points to trade at 28.53 in late trade. Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) declined 3.20% or 0.58 points to end at 17.52 and Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) shed 3.18% or 3.00 points to 91.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 320 to 127 and 5 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.87% or 1.74 to $43.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.89% or 1.48 to hit $49.55 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.32% or 3.50 to trade at $1107.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1029, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.7087.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 97.37.
