Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB lost 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT), which rose 1.43% or 0.38 points to trade at 26.87 at the close. Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) added 1.39% or 0.14 points to end at 10.23 and Tenaris (MILAN:TENR) was up 0.71% or 0.09 points to 12.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yoox (MILAN:YOOX), which lost 3.76% or 1.22 points to trade at 31.26 in late trade. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS) declined 2.04% or 0.0400 points to end at 1.9160 and Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU) shed 1.91% or 0.25 points to 12.82.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 302 to 170 and 5 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.25% or 0.76 to $60.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.59% or 1.02 to hit $63.42 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.32% or 3.80 to trade at $1172.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1178, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.7133.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.67.
