Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB declined 0.51% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which rose 3.47% or 0.0610 points to trade at 1.8200 at the close. Banca Popolare Milano (MILAN:PMII) added 1.05% or 0.0095 points to end at 0.9150 and Enel Green Power (MILAN:EGPW) was up 0.64% or 0.011 points to 1.734 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which lost 7.08% or 0.74 points to trade at 9.79 in late trade. Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT) declined 2.20% or 0.025 points to end at 1.111 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) shed 1.73% or 0.240 points to 13.620.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 351 to 124 and 6 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 3.06% or 1.78 to $59.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 3.18% or 2.00 to hit $64.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.70 to trade at $1176.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1269, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.7334.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.00% at 95.23.
