Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Chemicals and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 2.65% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 3.22% or 0.1130 points to trade at 3.6180 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 0.54% or 0.09 points to end at 15.78 and ENI (MI:ENI) was up 0.13% or 0.02 points to 15.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which lost 6.73% or 0.151 points to trade at 2.100 in late trade. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) declined 6.09% or 1.30 points to end at 20.04 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) shed 5.61% or 0.8300 points to 13.9700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 334 to 61 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.45% or 1.66 to $66.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.45% or 0.34 to hit $74.98 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.20 to trade at $1302.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1552, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8718.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 94.75.
