Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which rose 0.43% or 0.11 points to trade at 24.50 at the close. Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU) added 0.29% or 0.30 points to end at 103.50 and Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) was up 0.22% or 0.03 points to 12.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII), which lost 2.73% or 0.17 points to trade at 6.13 in late trade. Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII) declined 2.55% or 0.15 points to end at 5.59 and Eni SpA (BIT:ENI) shed 2.41% or 0.32 points to 12.78.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 354 to 159 and 48 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.09% or 1.48 to $69.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.45% or 1.07 to hit $72.84 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 13.84 to trade at $2,656.16 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 106.47.
