Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were ERG (BIT:ERG), which rose 1.38% or 0.34 points to trade at 24.92 at the close. Italgas SpA (BIT:IG) added 1.18% or 0.06 points to end at 5.14 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) was up 0.73% or 0.75 points to 104.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which lost 4.54% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.80 in late trade. Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:UNPI) declined 4.20% or 0.41 points to end at 9.23 and STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) shed 3.52% or 0.92 points to 25.18.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 283 to 190 and 51 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 4.34% or 2.98 to $65.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 3.79% or 2.72 to hit $69.12 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 7.40 to trade at $2,540.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 101.63.
