Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which rose 2.74% or 0.45 points to trade at 16.88 at the close. Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) added 2.27% or 0.14 points to end at 6.12 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 2.05% or 0.64 points to 31.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset SpA (MI:MS), which lost 6.88% or 0.183 points to trade at 2.478 in late trade. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) declined 3.21% or 0.61 points to end at 18.40 and Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) shed 3.19% or 0.220 points to 6.668.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 239 to 124 and 22 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.47% or 0.82 to $56.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.66% or 1.09 to hit $66.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 4.40 to trade at $1203.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1305, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8730.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 96.94.
