Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which rose 1.33% or 0.03 points to trade at 2.02 at the close. Eni SpA (BIT:ENI) added 1.09% or 0.15 points to end at 14.26 and Azimut Holding SpA (BIT:AZMT) was up 1.01% or 0.24 points to 24.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS), which lost 2.73% or 0.15 points to trade at 5.27 in late trade. Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) declined 2.12% or 0.26 points to end at 11.93 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) shed 2.08% or 0.15 points to 7.07.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 327 to 194 and 35 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.86% or 1.28 to $69.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.55% or 1.13 to hit $74.19 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 5.60 to trade at $2,735.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 103.75.
