Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Travel & Leisure and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI), which rose 1.46% or 0.056 points to trade at 3.892 at the close. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) added 0.99% or 0.090 points to end at 9.150 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) was up 0.64% or 0.100 points to 15.620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII), which lost 3.56% or 0.174 points to trade at 4.720 in late trade. Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) declined 3.37% or 0.1440 points to end at 4.1240 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) shed 2.44% or 0.080 points to 3.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 241 to 122 and 17 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.97% or 1.51 to $49.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.61% or 1.49 to hit $55.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1275.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1727, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.8986.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.71.
