Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Assicurazioni Generali SpA (BIT:GASI), which rose 0.68% or 0.16 points to trade at 23.61 at the close. DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) added 0.50% or 0.50 points to end at 101.50 and Recordati (BIT:RECI) was up 0.50% or 0.25 points to 50.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which lost 2.86% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.00 in late trade. Tenaris SA (BIT:TENR) declined 2.72% or 0.35 points to end at 12.50 and UniCredit SpA (BIT:CRDI) shed 2.25% or 0.82 points to 35.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 293 to 198 and 45 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.45% or 0.33 to $73.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.45% or 0.35 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 2.60 to trade at $2,543.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 101.40.
